Pirastro Obligato Violin A String - 4/4

Pirastro Obligato Violin A String

The Pirastro Obligato Violin A String is an individual replacement available in 4/4 and combined 3/4–1/2 sizes. Both options feature a synthetic multifilament core, aluminum winding, medium gauge, and a ball-end attachment. Select the size that matches your violin; each purchase supplies one A string for the second-string position.

The 4/4 version fits a full-size violin, while the shared 3/4–1/2 version serves those two fractional instrument sizes. Check the violin's size designation when choosing a replacement or preparing a spare for lessons and rehearsals. Purchasing the A string individually lets you replace that position without ordering an entire set.

Both configurations share the same materials, gauge, and attachment type, so the size selection determines instrument fit. Each comes in envelope packaging with its own manufacturer article number to help identify repeat purchases. Confirm that your tailpiece or fine tuner accepts a ball-ended string before installation. Retain the package information when organizing spares for practice, ensemble work, or performances.
