Remote Audio MCATG Micro Cat Miniature Lavalier Windscreen Grey

Wind across an exposed lavalier can wreck an otherwise usable take, and the Micro Cat in grey is the classic fix. This miniature fuzzy windscreen slips over the capsule of a lav microphone so dialogue can be recorded outdoors in conditions that would otherwise cause serious wind noise problems.

Each Micro Cat is hand-made from a fuzzy outer layer plus two inner layers of open weave fabric, which stops wind from reaching the microphone while remaining sonically transparent. The elastic opening fits most lav mics up to 12 mm in diameter; narrow mics such as the Sanken COS-11 fit securely with their mesh windscreen installed.

Because concealment increases the risk of clothing noise, the Micro Cat works best worn outside clothing and fully exposed, and the neutral grey color can often go unnoticed in long and wide shots.
