The Roland JD-Xi is a 37-key interactive crossover synthesizer that combines a true monophonic analog synth section with two digital SuperNATURAL synth parts and a PCM drum kit — all running simultaneously. A built-in four-track pattern sequencer with TR-style step recording, real-time recording, and a gooseneck microphone with vocoder and auto-pitch bring performance-ready vocal effects into the same compact chassis.
The analog section features saw, triangle, and square waveforms with pulse-width modulation, a resonant analog filter, and an independent sub-oscillator — delivering the classic warmth and grit that digital cannot replicate. Both digital synth parts draw from Roland's SuperNATURAL sound engine for wide tonal variety. Four simultaneous effect sections (Distortion/Fuzz/Compressor/Bit Crusher, Flanger/Phaser/Ring Mod/Slicer, Delay ×2, and Reverb ×6) cover the full modern production palette.
USB Hi-Speed Audio/MIDI connectivity makes the JD-Xi a direct recording interface, while standard 5-pin DIN MIDI IN/OUT and mono/stereo 1/4-inch audio outputs ensure compatibility with any existing studio or stage rig. The lightweight 2.2 kg body and included AC adaptor make the JD-Xi equally viable as a primary keyboard for mobile producers and a secondary expander on a busy stage rig.
