Using Roland's proprietary Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology, the TR-08 faithfully recreates the original 808's analog circuitry down to the component level, delivering the deep booming bass drum, snappy snares, and signature cowbell, claps, and cymbals that have defined hip-hop, electronic, pop, and dance music for decades. It captures the unmistakable character of the original while adding the reliability and flexibility of today's digital workflow.
Built for hands-on beat-making, the TR-08 offers the classic 16-step sequencer with intuitive step buttons, plus per-instrument controls for tone, level, tuning, and decay. Modern enhancements such as Compressor, Gain, Tune, and Pan on selected instruments, along with sub-step programming and shuffle, give producers far more creative control than the vintage original ever allowed. The bright LED display shows tempo, pattern, and parameter values, making programming fast and visual whether you are in the studio or performing live.
Despite its small footprint, the TR-08 is a complete production tool. It functions as a USB audio interface with ten separate outputs for multitrack recording, syncs seamlessly via MIDI and USB, and runs on USB bus power or batteries for true portability.
