Description
Roland US-20 13-Pin GK Unit Selector Footswitch
The Roland US-20 13-pin GK unit selector lets one GK-equipped guitar or bass control two compatible GK processors from a single floor unit. One GK input feeds two GK outputs, while dual foot pedals let the performer switch between connected devices or combine both for layered synthesizer, modeling, and processing setups.
Designed for musicians using Roland and BOSS 13-pin GK systems, the US-20 simplifies rigs that combine two compatible processors without repeatedly disconnecting the instrument. It works with divided-pickup systems such as the GK-3 and GK-3B and can route their individual-string signal to devices such as guitar synthesizers, V-Guitar processors, and other compatible legacy GK equipment.
The rugged metal chassis is built for floor use in live and studio systems. Two included 3.9' C-13D GK connecting cables provide the links from the selector to the two processors, while the instrument connects through the dedicated GK IN port. Its compact 6.3" x 5.3" footprint keeps complex 13-pin GK setups manageable without adding a large switching system.
Key Features
- One GK Input, Two GK Outputs: Routes a single 13-pin GK-equipped instrument to two compatible GK processors.
- A/B Switching: Provides foot-controlled selection between two connected GK devices during performance.
- Combined Operation: Allows both connected units to operate together for layered sounds and expanded processing options.
- 13-Pin GK Compatibility: Designed for guitars and basses equipped with compatible Roland divided-pickup systems.
- Dual Foot Pedals: Keeps switching functions accessible without requiring the player to reach for rack or floor processors.
- Durable Metal Construction: Uses a road-ready chassis suited to stage, rehearsal, and studio environments.
- Two GK Cables Included: Ships with two 3.9' C-13D connecting cables for linking the selector to both GK devices.
Switch Between Two GK Processors
The US-20 is designed for musicians who want to operate two compatible 13-pin GK devices from one instrument. Rather than moving the GK cable between processors, the instrument remains connected to the selector while the two output ports feed Unit A and Unit B.
Combine Both Units for Layered Sounds
In addition to A/B selection, the second foot control allows both connected units to operate together. This supports rigs that combine synthesized tones with guitar modeling, multiple sound generators, or other complementary GK processing without adding a separate MIDI-controlled switching system.
GK Guitar and Bass System Compatibility
The selector accepts the 13-pin signal produced by compatible divided-pickup instruments. Roland lists GK-3 and GK-3B divided pickups as optional system components, allowing the US-20 to serve both guitar and bass configurations when paired with compatible GK processing equipment.
Compact Floor-Based Construction
A metal enclosure and two large foot controls make the US-20 suitable for stage use. At approximately 6.3" wide and 5.3" deep, it fits into a GK performance rig without occupying the space required by a larger programmable switching system.
