Seymour Duncan APH-2B Slash TB Zebra Bridge Humbucker
The Seymour Duncan APH-2B Slash TB Zebra bridge humbucker is voiced to capture the powerful, singing rock tones heard on Slash’s classic recordings with Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and his solo projects. Developed in close collaboration with Slash, this pickup refines the feel and response of his beloved Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers to deliver rich sustain, biting crunch and focused midrange character in the bridge position.
Engineered to make modern instruments respond like Slash’s famed AFD Les Paul, the APH-2B uses a custom wind and bar magnet formula to push a stock guitar toward thick, harmonically complex overdrive while retaining clarity for chords and articulate lead work. It’s a natural fit for hard rock, classic rock and blues-inspired players who need expressive dynamics and singing upper-mids that cut through a band mix.
Hand built in Seymour Duncan’s Santa Barbara workshop, this Trembucker-spaced bridge pickup combines vintage-inspired construction with modern performance. A nickel silver baseplate with long mounting legs, single-conductor braided lead wire, maple spacer, paper tape and wax potting provide classic feel and reliability, while the zebra bobbins give your guitar a distinctive Slash-style look on stage and in the studio.
Key Features
- Slash Signature Bridge Voice: Designed in collaboration with Slash to deliver the saturated sustain, crunch and midrange emphasis associated with his legendary Les Paul tones.
- Hot-Rodded Alnico Design: Custom coil wind and bar magnet recipe enhances output and harmonic content while preserving clarity for both rhythm and lead work.
- Trembucker Spacing for Modern Bridges: Trembucker configuration aligns the pole pieces with the strings on guitars equipped with Floyd Rose®-style locking trems, six-screw vintage-style tremolos or two-point fulcrum bridges.
- Vintage-Inspired Construction: Built with a nickel silver bottom plate, long mounting legs, maple spacer and paper tape for a traditional feel and response.
- Wax-Potted Reliability: Wax potting helps control unwanted feedback at higher gain levels while maintaining touch sensitivity.
- Hand Built in the USA: Crafted in Santa Barbara, California, using the same methods Seymour Duncan used on the original Slash pickups in the 1980s.
- Iconic Rock Tones: Ideal for hard rock, classic rock and blues-rock players seeking singing lead tones and powerful, authoritative chord work.
