The SpeakerCraft AIM282-MK3 is an 8-inch, two-way in-ceiling loudspeaker from the legendary AIM Mk 3 family — the classic ReVoiced. It has been re-tuned to support modern installations that demand serious sonic performance, from distributed whole-home audio to advanced object-based surround formats such as Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X. The result is a flangeless architectural speaker that disappears into the ceiling while delivering rich, room-filling sound.
At the heart of the AIM282-MK3 is SpeakerCraft's signature ARC Tweeter Array: two 3/4-inch and two 5/8-inch silk-dome tweeters arranged along a pivoting arc and fed in phase, so high frequencies travel farther into the room with a carefully defined dispersion pattern. Paired with a pivoting glass-fiber woofer offering 359-degree rotational adjustability, integrators can aim the sound precisely at the listening area for exceptional speech intelligibility and imaging. Updated WavePlane technology acts as an acoustic lens, focusing high-frequency energy for a cleaner, wider, and richer sound throughout the space.
A refined crossover combining symmetrical and asymmetrical Linkwitz-Riley filtering improves phase coherence, acoustic symmetry, and power handling for a smooth transition between frequency bands. Acoustic Isolation Technology decouples the housing from the surrounding ceiling to reduce structural resonance, and the speaker is timbre-matched to all SpeakerCraft Two Level speakers for a seamless whole-home listening experience.
