The SpeakerCraft ASM90901 (SE1410-CRS8 with clips) is a fire-rated steel sound enclosure, or back box, designed to house an 8-inch round in-ceiling speaker. Crafted from robust steel with precision welds for lasting mechanical integrity, it is built to endure the rigorous demands of fire-code requirements while protecting the speaker and the surrounding structure.
Beyond code compliance, the enclosure greatly reduces sound transference between rooms, keeping audio where it belongs and making for a quieter, happier household. It ships with extension wing clips for secure mounting; extension wings are ordered separately to adapt the enclosure to your specific joist spacing and installation.
