The SpeakerCraft SC3-IC8 is a premium 8-inch in-ceiling loudspeaker from the Nice SC3 architectural series — an evolution of SpeakerCraft, the inventor of architectural speakers. It pairs a black Kevlar woofer with a pivoting 1.25-inch aluminum-magnesium AccuAim tweeter to deliver crisp, clear, and dynamic sound throughout the home, from whole-home music and media rooms to dedicated home theaters.
The Kevlar cone is thin, stiff, and light for improved transient response and dynamics, while the aluminum-magnesium alloy tweeter — 56.3% larger than a typical 1-inch dome — delivers more power at a lower crossover point, enhanced off-axis response, and low distortion. A copper shorting ring (Faraday shield) reduces distortion and keeps impedance consistent across the frequency range, and an asymmetrical 3rd-order crossover with a 3-position tweeter level switch and 2-position voice switch lets you fine-tune the highs and vocal focus to taste.
Installation is fast and secure thanks to the ViseLock toolless clamping system, which mounts up to 75% faster than traditional designs. AccuAim technology click-locks the tweeter to a repeatable angle for precise phase accuracy, XmaG extended pole pieces keep response linear at all levels, and a rigid metal frame resists resonance and transmission loss. The paintable, bezelless stainless-steel round grille resists rust naturally, and the speaker works with EL-PCB-IC-8 pre-construction brackets.
