The Tannoy VLS 5 Passive Column Array Loudspeaker is a five-driver installation speaker engineered for high-intelligibility speech reinforcement in acoustically challenging spaces. Five vertically arrayed 3.5" full-range drivers provide 130° horizontal by 45° vertical nominal dispersion, while 120W average and 480W peak power handling support demanding commercial sound systems.

Available in black VLS5 and white VLS5WH versions, this column loudspeaker suits airports, transportation facilities, conference centers, houses of worship, stadium concourses, museums, hotels, and long corridors. A rear rotary selector supports 12-ohm low-impedance operation or 70V and 100V distributed systems through an integrated 100W line transformer with multiple power taps.

The VLS 5 uses a passive frequency-shading network to control the output of its vertical driver array while maintaining a slim architectural profile. Its aluminum enclosure and powder-coated perforated steel grille are rated IP64 for resistance to dust and moisture ingress. Internally paralleled barrier-strip connectors simplify system linking, while included mounting and weather-protection hardware supports permanent indoor and suitable outdoor installations.
