The Thypoch Simera-C 28mm T1.5 is a compact full-frame cine prime built for filmmakers who need a fast, wide-normal lens that will not weigh down a gimbal, a drone, or a run-and-gun handheld rig. Cinema cameras have shrunk dramatically, and the Simera-C series answers that shift by fusing the design language of classic rangefinder optics with cinema-grade mechanics. The result is a T1.5 lens that covers a 43.2mm image circle - full-frame, with Super 35 and APS-C compatibility - inside a body that measures under 79mm long and weighs less than 500 grams. For 28mm coverage this is one of the smallest genuinely cine-spec primes available for Sony E and Leica M mount cameras.
Optically, the 28mm T1.5 uses an 11-element, 7-group formula that combines aspherical, extra-low-dispersion, and high-refractive-index glass with a floating element group. That floating design pulls the minimum focus distance in to 0.4m, closer than most rehoused or modified rangefinder glass, so close-up texture and detail stay available without a diopter. Chromatic aberration control is clean wide open, field curvature is deliberately human-eye-like, and resolution holds from center to edge in support of 8K acquisition. A 16-blade iris - up from 14 on the Simera photo series - renders rounder, creamier bokeh and suppresses the onion-ring highlights that plague cheaper cine primes. Multi-layer vacuum anti-reflective coatings plus an internal anodized matte-black finish that keeps reflectivity under 3.5% tame flare and ghosting in backlit and mixed-lighting work.
Handling is pure cinema. The all-metal aerospace-grade aluminum barrel carries standard 0.8 MOD geared focus and iris rings that drop straight onto any follow focus or wireless motor, with a 210-degree focus throw for precise pulls. Internal dust and splash resistance keeps the lens working on location, and the small footprint makes the Simera-C set one of the few cine lens families that fits the DJI Ronin 4D and the DJI FLEX system for low-angle, over-the-shoulder, and tight vehicle interior shots. Choose native Sony E mount for direct mirrorless use, or native Leica M mount for adapting across E, RF, Z, L, and X bodies - or, with a locking M-ARRI adapter, onto ARRI ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, and AMIRA cinema cameras.
