Description
The Thypoch Simera-C six-lens kit is a complete full-frame cinema prime set built around the way small-sensor cine cameras and gimbals actually get used today. It pairs the ultra-wide 16mm T1.9 with five fast T1.5 primes - 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm - so a single compact case covers everything from tight-interior establishing shots to intimate portrait coverage without ever swapping lens systems. Every lens in the set shares a 43.2mm image circle for full-frame coverage (and works happily on Super 35 and APS-C), a 16-blade rounded iris, a 210-degree manual focus throw, and 0.8 MOD focus and iris gears placed in matched positions, so a follow focus or motor stays where it is when you change primes.
Optically, Simera-C is the product of Thypoch's rangefinder heritage combined with DZOFILM's cinema engineering. Aspherical, low-dispersion and high-refractive-index elements are used across the series to hold resolution out to the corners with clean chromatic aberration control, a peak center resolution of 85 lp/mm, near-zero distortion and effectively zero focus breathing - enough to hold up on 8K digital cinema sensors. Vacuum-deposited multi-layer anti-reflective coatings and an internal anodized matte-black finish keep internal reflectivity below 3.5%, so flare and ghosting stay controlled and highlights roll off cleanly even shooting straight into a practical or a backlit window. Floating-element focus groups let each prime focus closer than most rehoused or modified rangefinder glass, which is what makes the wide primes genuinely usable for detail and texture work.
The real argument for the Simera-C set is what it does to your build. Individual lenses run roughly 353-491 g in an aerospace-grade aluminum housing with dust- and splash-resistant internal sealing, and the whole six-lens family comes in well under 3 kg - light enough for handheld rigs, gimbals, drones, and one of the very few full-frame cine sets that will sit on a DJI Ronin 4D or work cleanly with the DJI FLEX system and DJI Focus Pro. Native Sony E and Leica M mounts are offered, and the M-mount version adapts onto Canon RF, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X and other mirrorless bodies with a simple adapter, making this kit a strong choice for documentary crews, solo operators, and small narrative productions that need a consistent, matched cinema look without a truck to move it.
Features
- Complete six-lens full-frame cine prime set: 16mm T1.9 plus 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm T1.5
- 16-blade rounded iris on every lens for smooth, circular bokeh and round out-of-focus highlights (two more blades than the Simera photo series, reducing onion-ring artifacts)
- Consistent cine mechanics across the set: 210-degree focus throw, 0.8 MOD focus and iris gears in matched positions, dual metric and imperial focus scales
- Aspherical, ED and high-refractive-index elements deliver 85 lp/mm peak center resolution with near-zero distortion and effectively zero focus breathing - 8K-capable
- 43.2mm image circle covers full-frame sensors and is fully compatible with Super 35 and APS-C
- Floating-element focus design achieves a closer minimum focus than most rehoused or modified rangefinder optics
- Multi-layer vacuum anti-reflective coatings plus an internal matte-black anodized finish (under 3.5% reflectivity) suppress flare, ghosting and stray-light veiling
- Aerospace-grade all-metal aluminum bodies with dust- and splash-resistant internal design; each lens is only about 353-491 g and the full set comes in under 3 kg
- Compact enough for handheld, gimbal and drone work - one of the few full-frame cine sets compatible with the DJI Ronin 4D, DJI FLEX and DJI Focus Pro
- Available in native Sony E mount or Leica M mount; the M-mount set adapts to Sony, Canon RF, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X bodies with a simple adapter
- Manual focus and manual iris throughout for deliberate, repeatable cinema-style operation
