This Gen 2 revision pairs UA's award-winning Apollo sound with the company's highest-resolution Elite-Class A/D and D/A converters ever, delivering an unprecedented 130 dB of dynamic range, ultra-low -127 dB THD, and Dual Crystal Clocking for pristine, dependable timing. The result is a reference-grade front end that captures every detail of your source while giving you the confidence of true analog-quality conversion at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.
What sets Apollo x8 Gen 2 apart is its onboard HEXA Core UAD DSP, which runs UA's acclaimed analog-emulation plug-ins in real time with near-zero latency. Four Unison mic preamps with Auto-Gain physically model the impedance, gain staging, and circuit behavior of classic tube and transformer-based preamps and guitar amps, so you can track through emulations of Neve, API, Manley, and Fender, Marshall, and Ampeg rigs and print that tone as you record. Enhanced D/A monitoring is further refined by Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks, letting you hear a neutral, room-corrected picture of your mix on any monitors.
Built for hybrid and in-the-box workflows alike, the Apollo x8 Gen 2 Studio+ edition ships with an expanded suite of UAD plug-ins so you can start mixing professional records the moment you unbox it.
