The Warm Audio WA-2FT Fen-tone Matched Pair Ribbon Microphones combine two figure-8 ribbon microphones selected for stereo recording applications. Each microphone uses a 1.8-micron Japanese aluminum ribbon, neodymium magnet, CineMag USA transformer, and selectable 26 dB JFET preamp for passive or phantom-powered active operation.

This matched pair is designed for stereo drum overheads, piano, acoustic instruments, orchestral recording, guitar cabinets, horns, strings, and room capture. The figure-8 pattern receives sound from the front and rear while rejecting the sides, making the pair useful for spaced stereo techniques and other arrangements where controlled lateral rejection matters.

Each Fen-tone operates passively in VT mode or activates its onboard Warm Lifter circuit in +dB mode for 26 dB of additional gain. Active operation requires 48V phantom power, while passive operation requires no power. A compact side-address body simplifies positioning around instruments, and the matched pair includes a protective flight case, two microphone clips, and two protective socks.
