Description
Wittner Augsburg Adjustable Viola Chinrest - 4/4 Black
The Wittner Augsburg Adjustable Viola Chinrest provides contoured chin support for a full-size viola, with selectable height and tilt. Its black plastic composite body mounts centrally on the instrument. These settings let players refine the support position as part of a setup that considers chin contact, shoulder support, and preferred instrument placement.
This configuration suits violists replacing a chinrest or exploring a different support angle on a 4/4 instrument. A player, teacher, or instrument technician can assess the height and inclination settings against the preferred playing position. The adjustable design offers several setup possibilities within one assembly for lessons, rehearsals, and individual practice.
Made in Germany, the Augsburg combines an anatomically shaped playing surface with composite construction and a centered attachment arrangement. Follow Wittner's fitting instructions when installing the chinrest and selecting its settings. Check the mounting clearance and relationship to the tailpiece, then evaluate the completed setup with the player and existing shoulder support to establish a suitable contact position.
