The Yamaha EAD20 Electronic Acoustic Drum Module combines acoustic drum capture, electronic sounds, effects, triggering, sampling, and multichannel USB audio in one expandable system. Its included bass-drum-mounted sensor uses a matched pair of condenser microphones in an XY stereo arrangement, allowing drummers to capture an entire acoustic kit without a conventional multi-microphone setup.

Designed for recording, practice, live performance, streaming, and hybrid drumming, the EAD20 pairs natural acoustic drum sound with an AWM2 tone generator containing 2,203 voices. Drummers can layer electronic sounds with acoustic hits, connect additional pads or triggers, create samples, build loops, and save customized scenes. Automatic microphone gain and crosstalk setup functions also simplify configuration for changing drum setups.

The EAD20 supports both stereo and multichannel computer recording through its USB audio interface, including 8-input/10-output operation at 24-bit/44.1 kHz. Yamaha EAD Touch and Rec'n'Share app compatibility extends control, recording, editing, and performance-video workflows to compatible mobile devices. USB flash drive support provides external storage for expanded production and performance use.
